I have mark kiss therapy lip balm in shimmering plum and two in shimmering shell (one for me and one for my daughter). I love them by themselves or over lipstick. Today I am wearing NYC Superplum (418B) lipstick and a dot of shimmering plum in the center of my lips looks nice. This lip balm is more like a frosty gloss but it does have moisturizing properties. I hope mark hasn't discontinued kiss therapy because I really like this product.(I haven't seen these in the catalogs recently.) Even though I have to put my finger or a lip brush in the pot, I keep hands and my tools clean so it's no big deal.

Perhaps, one of my favorite rosebud scented things, as it really smells beyond amazing. I liked it so much that I had to have one in every color, unfortunately, I disliked all the other colors and found them to be stickier than the original. Leaves a subtle shine. I will always have the original on hand as it only runs $5, and it moisturizes better than half of the stuff out there. The scent alone is worth that price.
This is another product that makes me realize that avon is not all rubbish, as they carry quality lip conditioners and scents.

Its pretty thick for a lip balm and a little sticky. It smells like roses. The spf15 is a plus. Shimmering coral has a light bronzey look with some shimmer and stays on for a while. I wouldnt use it as a everyday allday lip balm like chapstick, but like a lipgloss b/c of the color and I like to switch up my l/g everyday. I would buy this product again, but i probably wouldnt get a chance to b/c I dont use it that often.

I absolutely hated it, it smelled horrible, tasted horrible and just didn't work for my lips. It's kind of expensive for the quality and how much product you get (you'll find better at the 99 cent store), I had high hopes but was greatly disappointed. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I wanted to love this product. I had high hopes and purchased it based on MUA reviews. The first few days were fine. At the end of the week, my lips became impossible. Usually lip balms will stop working for me after a few months, not a few days. Decent price but didn't awe me at all.
It does smell like roses and wax. I have shimmering bronze and coral. I gave it 2 just because it looks good. A sheer-color semi-glossy finish. I hate the packaging, metal tins can be hard to open and I dislike dipping my finger in the middle of the day to put it on.
It contains 7.5% octinoxate and 3% oxybenzone, both chemical SPFs that can mess with hormones, particularly estrogen. Read up on it. I'm not too anal about it, but would just prefer a physical protection as my skin won't react so poorly to it.

I use this balm everyday! I have the old one without any SPF, color, or shimmer. It keeps my lips soft and smooth without being sticky. The balm lasts for a pretty long time. It smells like roses. There is no discernible taste. It looks pink in the pot but goes on clear and very glossy.
My only problems with this product is the tin container because it makes it a pain to apply the product. Also, it can be difficult to open.

I love this balm! I just got it in the shimmering coral color. The scent is amazing. It has a great moisturizing texture. I'm always looking for new lip glosses/balms since I am not a lipstick girl. This one is great with a subtle color to it. While the packaging is not 100%, I don't have complaints like everybody else.
Update: I cannot get enough of this stuff! I just got the shimmering bronze and shimmering shell colors. I love the consistency of this balm and cannot get enough of the rosebud scent!

I have had both types, and let me tell you that the shimmering SPF ones are a totally different formula. The sheer ones are the way to go. I have tons of lip stuff and the original one is what I go to when my lips are chapped and irritated (things like even the original Burt's Bees sting when my lips are chapped) They don't make the sheer red anymore but that one is the same as the original with a nice red tint.
The shimmering ones are thicker, and have a horrible feel sticky thick and almost cakey. I only use the one I have when I can't find any of my other lip products with SPF. I was really hoping the SPF ones would be just like the original with some shimmer but they are not.
As for the packaging, if you can find any with the old style cannister ;silver metal with a raised embossed pair of lips, these are easier to open/shut than the new style pictured here

I have the balm in Bronze Chatoyant. I like the color. A bit sticky when a apply with your fingers/ The balm itself is very creamy and has a heavenly 'sweet' smell. It does what a lipbalm should do. I have no complaints.
The tin is cute but one drawback is that I'm afraid I may one day need jaws of life to get it open. It is tricky to open when you want to get to the balm quickly. I like the balm!

DISGUSTING! i don't know if i got a old tin of this stuff or what, but it had an old-lady rose water smell, which would be tolerable if the balm was any good. it was like putting sticky quicksand on your lips. the color was not at all sheer and i might as well have caked chalk onto my lips.

I have Shimmering Shell and the color is pink with a gold shimmery undertone. LOVE the color but I HATE HATE HATE the packaging, which is why I took off two lippies, like most other people. SO hard to take it off, and when I eventually get it off, sometimes the cap ends up flinging to the opposite side of the room. lame. Well, the balm itself is alright. I wouldn't exactly say it was a "super soothing" balm, but it doesn't dry out my lips or anything. I use it mostly for the color.
    EDIT 10/26/2009
I actually like this now. The packaging still sucks, obviously, but I dab it in the center of my lips for shine and to make the illusion that my lips look fuller, and the color is great for that!

The little tins are cute and one of them is hard to open, the other two are fine. You get a fair amt of product and it's inexpensve. This balm in plum shimmer and bronze shimmer adds a touch of color, smooth moisture that lasts and lasts, no 'gloppiness', just a plump beautiful lip!
I also have the opal shimmer and it has no real color but adds a soft opalescence to the lip plus all the smooth moisture benefits.
    A great buy.

I have this in Sheer Rose, Sheer Peach, Shimmering Shell and Shimmering Bronze, and I think it works fine. The Sheer Rose comes out clear, Sheer Peach has a coral tint to it, Shimmering Shell is really really sparkly, but a nice shade of pink sparkly, and Shimmering Bronze is like the latter but in nude. It does what it says, moisturizes well, with a nice shine to go with it, but I HATE THE PACKAGING! I only put it on in the morning, with clean fingers after brushing my teeth and before putting on makeup, but the stupid tin is always so hard to open! Its cute and all, but can't mark have made a screw cap or something? However, I think its worth it for the money and the quality (just not the packaging!!); but I might just move onto to Korres cause its all natural and it comes with a container that's easier to open.

I can honestly say this one of the most annoying products I have ever tried! The packaging is so frustrating that because of that issue alone I won't buy it again. It takes me forever to open it up, and sadly at my young age I am already suffering from a bit of arthritis in my hands - that makes this product a complete waste for me to own. That aside I like the colors - they are sheer and pretty, not too shiny. They do keep my lips from being overly chapped and last quite a while. It is nice to have a lip gloss and a balm molded into one nice tube (I prefer Too Faced by far though). I don't care for the texture - it is a bit pastey in my opinion. As for the taste, it is kind of floral and I just don't like it on my lips. All in all it is decently priced, a great idea and it has a pretty color palette (all the reasons it gets rated a two) but I won't repurchase this one.

In my reviews, I am very hard on make up companies who make products with shoddy or hard-to-open products, and even though I like the actual product of the lip balm, it is always a struggle to open it so I deleted two lippies because of this. Nice product+awful packaging = never purchasing again.

This balm does a fair job of keeping my lips lacquered, but when it wears off my lips seem pretty dry. And while the rose scent is nice at first, it starts to small like I'm wearing perfume on my lips after an hour or two. Also- the tin is cute, but hard to get into!
